Yesterday afternoon the Year 7 football team played in the 3rd round of the English Schools Cup. They made an excellent start with Dominic Weston putting Carlton in the lead. Caistor Grammar were then awarded a penalty, which Jake Walker saved superbly. The boys led going into the second half and had a great opportunity to go further ahead through Harry Howard-Turner. Caistor equalised soon after that missed opportunity and Carlton were visibly deflated by this. 

Caistor then took the lead with a superb strike 10 minutes before the final whistle. An unfortunate own goal then sealed the win for Caistor right before the end of the game. 

Final score: Carlton 1-3 Caistor Grammar

The team have performed brilliantly in all of their cup games this year and on another day may have progressed through to the fourth round.
